Lightbulb Camera control (UI improvement)

I'm not happy with the camera control as it is now:
I'm changing the camera angle all the time to be able to see better where I'm going.
This is annoying since I have to hold the right mouse button all the time, which is bad for my health (RSI!).
So I have two suggestions for improvement:

1.) Improve the automatic camera control. It should change the camera's "height" adequately concerning the terrain. I.e. when I walk up a hill the camera should be much lower than when I walk downwards.

2.) Really easy to implement and absolutely sufficient. Please do this one, developers:
An option to change the mouse/camera behaviour so, that it is "inverted", i.e. moving the camera with the mouse is always on and moving the mouse cursor occurs only when I click the right mouse button?
Even better would be if the right mouse button would work as a switch between the two modes.

Do you other players have any workarounds for my problem until they (hopefully) implement at least my second suggestion?

Doing something like #2 after almost 18 months of public use would be bad. And the toggle feature could be clunky also. It is best to have one action mean one thing. With the toggle function, the one action of clicking to switch would end in two different results.

I agree with #1 though. Although it would be somewhat hard to implement. Currently the camera moves closer once it virtually hits the ground or a wall. On second thought, if you add a ('ground_level' + 'camera_height') variable, it seems to be quite simple. And it would mimic natural viewing. Although I can see problems when moving over the top of a hill. Similar to in Battlefield when you're driving a tank and can't see the mine just over the ridge.

No. As I wrote already, it should be and option. The default behaviour should remain as it is.

What I'd like to see, is the game remembering and keeping the distance of camera zoom I have set.

I like to zoom the camera way back, but the game sneakily zooms in everytime I move (and sometimes even when I'm not moving, clearly seeing the camera zooming slowly in). It's like a second nature for me now to use the mouse wheel to keep the camera zoomed back all the time. Doesn't make it any less annoying though.
